WaterBeader coatings produce a water repellant surface treatment modeled by the Lotus Effect phenomenon (superhydrophobic). The contact area for water is reduced causing water to “bead” and roll off the treated surfaces. In the past, high-quality superhydrophobic coatings were generally relegated to university research laboratories because they were difficult and expensive to produce, not scalable to large volumes and not amenable to being made into a commercially viable coating.
In other words, these types of coatings were not easily available until now. Our coatings are developed and manufactured in the U.S.

Self Cleaning - Where rain or even dirty water will bead up and roll off of the surface taking along whatever dust/dirt is along the way.
Unwettable - Water beads and rolls off like glass spheres without wetting the treated surface.
Icephobic - Prevent dangerous ice build-up on multiple surfaces/structures to improve safety and eliminate the cost of damages.
Anti-microbial - Microbes do not live without water, and WaterBeader surfaces stay dry.

Are these coatings safe?
Our products can typically be treated like any other solvent containing spray paint or coating. All of the active ingredients are being sold in other consumer products. Like those, toxicological information has been determined to be safe when used appropriately.
A well ventilated area and/or mask, eye protection and gloves are all recommended when using solvent containing products.
How long will these coatings last?
It really depends on
1. which coating is used
2. what conditions the coating is being subjected to
3. what substrate the coating was applied
For example, tests have been done and show that treated aluminum under purified water may last indefinitely. However, most objects treated are not subjected to pure water. Water hardness, chemicals and other water impurities can have an effect on the superhydrophobic properties of these coatings.
Friction and abrasion can also determine the longevity of these coatings. A smooth surface treated where there is a lot of abrasion (other than aqueous solutions) will not usually hold up well. However, an application within a porous surface such as concrete or wood can act differently. Sidewalks or wooden steps treated to alleviate ice accumulation works well. Even though there is “traffic” in these areas, the coating survives in the tiny pores and is not as easily undermined.
We currently have substrates treated that have lasted for months in the weather and still counting….
Can I spray this on my windshield? Is this Clear?
As of now, we are not providing transparent coatings to the individual consumer. All of the consumer/retail coatings have a “haze” to them once they dry so glass is normally not an application for these coatings.

How is this applied?
These coatings can be sprayed or used as a “dip” with what you want to apply them to. The substrate is usually dry within 8 to 30 minutes depending on the temperature and humidity.

How long do these coatings last in the sunlight?
They do very well. We also add UV inhibitors to make them even more durable.
